The 10th National Sports Tournament will be held in Karnali. For this, Karnali Stadium has been under construction for a long time. The time of organizing the competition which will be held from 17th to 24th November 2024 is approaching. The work of the stadium in ‘Birendranagar Surkhet’, the capital of ‘Karnali Province’, has been accelerated rapidly for sports use.
There is a lack of sports infrastructure in other districts of the province. It is said that the budget for pre-preparation for sports is not much. A year later, the sports council member secretaries of Koshi and Bagmati provinces have come to Karnali to understand the infrastructural structure and preparation for the 10th national sports competition. They observed the physical structure of the stadium under construction here.
Hansraj Wagle, a member of the Sports Council of Koshi Province, emphasized that the federal government and the National Sports Council should pay attention to the competition as the time of the competition is approaching. He said, ‘It is possible to play up to 21/22 out of 33 games in the stadium under construction. The rest of the games should be prepared to be played in other districts.
Bagmati Province Sports Development Council Member Secretary Suryalal Bhandari : that the progress of the provincial stadium is encouraging. He said, ‘The stadium was observed. The progress of the construction work is commendable. The work should be increased to a war level. Even though the provincial government has allocated a budget of 85 crores, it seems that there will be some problems in the infrastructure.
Member Secretary of Karnali Sports Council Bishwamitra Sanjyal : That they are discussing the physical structure of all the ten districts. “It is thought that the game will be played in a place where the living environment can be easily managed”, he said, “We are serious about the fact that the construction of the structure should be done overnight.”
Expressing his sorrow that the federal government did not support him even after requesting the budget several times, member secretary Sanjyal said that 60 percent of the stadium has made physical progress and there is a lack of infrastructure in other districts.
However, he said that due to the fact that the games going to the international level will be given priority, a lot of attention should be paid to the management side.
